Brunot, Marie Lenelia's Obituary
Marie Lenelia Brunot passed from this life on June 8, 2025 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Marie was born January 8, 1962 in Haiti, to Jean-Baptiste and Icenie (Kerette) Theus.
Marie L. Brunot was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. To know her was to love her, and if you were loved by her, you were truly blessed. Marie lived with a spirit that was equal parts gentle and strong. She was always ready for an adventure, even if it started with a simple, “Let’s go.” Her heart was open, her hands were giving, and her laugh — oh, that laugh — could fill a room. Especially because, after everyone else had finished laughing at a joke, she’d often laugh again five seconds later when she fully understood it — and that made everyone laugh all over again. She was selfless to her core. She gave without hesitation — whether it was her time, her love, or, more often than not, a perfectly wrapped gift. Gifts were her love language. The family would return from a trip and say, “Mom, we went here and saw this…” and without missing a beat she’d say, “Oh yeah? So what did you bring me?” And she meant it — with a big smile on her face and her hand already halfway out. Marie loved her husband, each of her children, and her grandchildren deeply. And she found joy in the simple, beautiful things in life: cashews, shopping trips, and a steaming hot plate of food — 130 degrees to be exact. Anything cooler, and she’d say, “Put it back in the microwave!” And when she wasn’t out finding the best deal or planning the next family outing, you could find her faithfully tuned in to Family Feud — not just watching, but playing along like she was the one on stage. Her favorite color was pink, which says everything — vibrant, warm, and full of life. That’s how she moved through the world. That’s how she made people feel. She drank only water — simple and pure, just like her approach to love. She didn’t need much to be happy… but she did like to save everything. Little notes, receipts, souvenirs — because to Marie, everything had meaning. And maybe that’s one of the greatest lessons she leaves behind: to hold on to what matters, even the smallest things. Marie’s love was consistent. It was fierce. And it was fun. She taught her family how to show up for each other. How to take care of one another. How to laugh through pain. And how to keep going when life gets hard. Her absence will be felt deeply, but her legacy will be felt even more. Through every act of generosity, every shared joke, every memory they carry — she lives on. The Brunot family misses her. They love her. And they will never forget her. Thank you, Marie, for the pink, the laughter, the gifts, and the love. Thank you for being theirs. Rest well — until they see you again.
Visitation will be from 9:45 AM to 10:30 AM, with the funeral service at 11:00 AM, both on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Rhema Bible Church. The committal service to follow at 2:30 PM, at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.
