Marie was my older sister and special to me. Throughout our married lives, we talked on the phone for hours every Sunday as we lived in different cities, but when Covid struck, we spoke every day. I will miss those daily conversations with Marie about what we did that particular day. Marie and Dan came to my house every Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas until their move to Oklahoma. I cooked and Marie served---a great combination. Marie gave me 2 of her hand sewed quilts, which I cherish and was always bringing me clothes which she was tired of wearing, but always looked brand new to me. She had the patience of a saint and ability to spend hours shopping in a store just to find that perfect item she was looking for. I will always cherish my memories of her and her kindness to me when I was young. She was special. It will be difficult for me not to call her on the phone and hear that "Hello." May the angles now carry her into Paradise. Janice Hija
