Marie Jean White's Obituary
Marie Jean White passed away March 13, 2017 in Butte Montana. Marie was born in Fresno, California on January 19, 1931 to Thomas and Evelyn O’Neill. She graduated from Memorial High School in Fresno, California. She attended Fresno State College where she met Lawrence E. White and they married on October 4, 1952 and were married for 64 years.
Marie loved sewing and enjoyed making clothes for her daughters. Later she took up quilting. Her family is lucky to have quilts she made as a memory. Marie was an avid bowler and bowled in leagues in Fresno, Tulsa and Claremore. Marie and Larry started taking in foster children in Tulsa and Claremore, Oklahoma. Over the years they took in over 70 children. Marie was an active member of Our Lady of Victory Church in Fresno and later at St. Cecelia’s Church in Claremore.
In 2011 the Whites moved to Butte, Montana to be closer to their daughter Cathy and grand- and great-grandchildren.
Marie is preceded in death by her parents and brother.
