Marilyn Joyce Campbell's Obituary
Marilyn Joyce Campbell, a godly woman of 85, passed from this life on Saturday, August 1, 2020. She was born September 9, 1934 in Mishawaka, Indiana, and lived a life dedicated to her faith and family. For Fred Campbell, her husband of more than 65 years, Marilyn exemplified Proverbs 31:10; she was “a virtuous and capable wife, more precious than rubies.” In her daily devotionals, she prayed for every son, daughter-in-law, grandchild and great-grandchild. Marilyn devoted much of her time to her church - singing, teaching vacation Bible school, enhancing the church library. Her home was filled with needlepoint and a wide variety of handmade items she lovingly crafted and often personalized for family members (including cats). She enjoyed cooking - and her family loved her cherry cake, cookies, and peanut butter fudge. As a mother of four boys, Marilyn had an appreciation for sports and was an avid Cardinals fan (or Cubs, depending on which son you ask). All agree that memories of Marilyn singing are among the most cherished, and her family finds comfort knowing that she is now in heaven praising God with her beautiful voice.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, Fred Campbell of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; four sons, Fred Campbell and his wife Connie of Stanhope, New Jersey, Steve Campbell and his wife Dianne of Owasso, Oklahoma, Phil Campbell and his wife Renee of Hackett, Arkansas, and Jim Campbell and his wife Kara of Conway, Arkansas; her sister, Jeanette Felabom of Tuscon, Arizona; nine grandchildren, Matthew Campbell and his wife Jericho, Michelle Kassmann and her husband Chris, Michael Campbell, Chance Campbell and his wife Rachel, Danielle Campbell, Collin Campbell, Scotty Campbell and his wife Rebekah, Jeff Campbell and Courtney Campbell; seven great-grandchildren, Hank, Kelly, Quinn, Cole, Ava, Hudson and Beau. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert E. Anderson and Bertha Gertrude Green Anderson and one brother, Herbert E. Anderson, Jr.
