Marilyn Kay Erickson's Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Marilyn Kay (Schafer) Erickson on February 4, 2025.
Marilyn was born September 21, 1952 in Enid, Oklahoma to Clifford and Ruth (Emmert) Schafer. She grew up on the family farm with her older brother, Gary, and younger sister, Gayla, near Homestead, Oklahoma. She attended the small country school there through 8th grade, then transferred to Okeene High School, where she graduated in 1970.
Marilyn attended school in Tulsa, Oklahoma and began her career working as a medical assistant for OB/GYN doctors. She met Jeff in Enid and they married in 1985. After moving to Tulsa, they welcomed their beloved daughter, Amanda, into the world in 1990. Some of their favorite memories together were spent camping at the lake.
Marilyn could light up a room with her smile and sense of humor. She had a knack for finding the best deals at a garage sale. She loved visiting her daughter’s family while they lived in various places, especially Hawaii. She always enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, who knew her as “MeMe”.
Marilyn touched the lives of many with her kindness and warmth. She will be forever missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Ruth, and brother, Gary. She is survived by her husband, Jeff; their daughter, Amanda; Amanda’s husband, Arthur; and their children, Aliyana, Axavier, and Amilya of El Paso, Texas.
She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. We welcome you to share your condolences and memories with the family here on Marilyn's tribute wall.
