Marilyn K. Geary's Obituary
Marilyn K. Geary, after a long suffering illness, passed into the waiting arms of the Lord Monday morning, October 19, 2015. She was born March 16, 1944 in Detroit Michigan, her parents being Oscar Kahan and Leah Kahan (née Silk). She attended and graduated from Wayne State University with a BS in Medical Technology and practiced as a Certified Medical Technologist for a number of years before retiring to be a housewife and mother. She had many interests – oil painting, piano, music, history, travel and football. She also was a published poet and author. She wrote and published (for the family) an in-depth, cookbook called Marilyn’s Staff of Life (2007). She had many friends who sought her company and advice. Above all, her real passions were in giving, family and loving her rescued pets. Her giving was manifested principally in her work at the Tulsa Multiple Sclerosis Society, where she worked for many years, despite the fact that she herself suffered from the disease. She was recognized locally and nationally by that society for her tireless efforts. She dearly loved her children and grandchildren and reveled in their company at every occasion. She is survived by her husband of over 45 years, William; sister Francine Kahan; Son Matthew Geary and spouse Jennifer, as well as Grandsons John and James; Daughter Kimberly Geary Wayne and Granddaughters Leah and Abby. Services will be held at the Floral Haven chapel in Broken Arrow at 12:30 PM on Saturday, October 24, 2015. Her wishes were that a donation be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in lieu of flowers.
