Marjorie Anglen's Obituary
Marjorie Anglen, 101, of Broken Arrow, OK passed May 5, 2025.
Married Dolph Richard Anglen, March 8th, 1941. Marjorie is survived by her daughter Brenda Sue Gann and husband Thomas Edward Gann, Daughter-in-law, Linda Louise Anglen, granddaughter, Krista Kay Gerschutz and her husband Eric Gerschutz, great granddaughter Hailey Nicole Harris, grandson in law, Brian Smith and her very special best friend, Michelle Carpenter.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, Marion Lester Geren and Ada Octavia Massengale Geren, Sister, Reba Katheryn Brown, Brother, Marvin Truman Geren, Husband Dolph Richard Anglen, Son Richard Lee Anglen and Granddaughter, Kimberly Kay Smith.
Marjorie attended Union Schools and was valedictorian of her junior high class. She finished her education at Broken Arrow High School.
Marjorie retired from McDonnell Douglas at the age of 55. She and Dolph were totally dedicated to the care of her mother, Ada. They took her on many trips to Harrison, Arkansas and visited her every day until her death. They took endless trips to Afton. Okla to visit their grandchildren. She and Dolph took adventurous trips including Hawaii, Alcapalco, the Bahamas, and spent a lot of time traveling the US with Their daughter and son-in-law.
Marjorie continued to travel with family and friends after Dolph's death. She went on two cruises to Alaska, the Caribbean, Bahamas and the Panama Canal. She cherished her travels with her granddaughter Kim and great granddaughter, Hailey to Disney World and Epcot in Florida and numerous trips to Branson.
She and her granddaughter Krista had a special fun-filled relationship. Krista was her caregiver the last few years she lived at home. They would drive down main street in Broken Arrow in Krista's convertible with the top down and wave at all the people.
Marjorie had a very special relationship with her best friend Michelle Carpenter. Their antics were legendary especially when they celebrated Marjorie's 99th birthday two years in a row. Marjorie loved to read biographies and play with her two cats. She was a huge fan of Patrick Swayze.
We wish to express a special thank you to all the caregivers at the Broken Arrow Nursing Home who lovingly cared for Marjorie for the last two years
Visitation will be held Sunday, May 11, 2025 from 2-4 PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 12, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel
Interment will take place at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens
