Marjorie Eunice Fite's Obituary
Fite, Marjorie E. – Long-time Tulsa resident, Marjorie Eunice (Looney) Fite, 100, affectionately known to family and friends as Nana, entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 2, 2007, at Manor Care Health Services after complications from a stroke. Marjorie was born on May 27, 1907, in Walnut Grove, MO, to Lillie Belle (Wheeler) Looney and Orville Allen Looney. Marjorie attended Southwest Missouri State Teacher’s college and later taught music. It was there that she met Paul Fite, who she later married on December 25, 1928 until the time of his death in 1997. Marjorie lived life to the fullest, filling her house and yard with beautiful plants and flowers. She was a long-time member of the Tulsa Garden Club. Marjorie was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a gifted pianist, organist, and classical music fan. She was a servant for Christ, and the oldest living member of the First Baptist Church of Tulsa, OK, at the time of her death. She is preceded in death by her husband Paul, her brother Allen Looney, daughter Ann (Fite) Shellhorn, and grandson Steve Bounds. The family would also like to thank First Baptist Church and Ruth and Ron Schuller for their kindness, generosity, and dear friendship. Funeral services was held on Saturday, July 7, 2007 at 12:30 PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel, 6500 South 129th East Ave, Broken Arrow, OK 74012. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the charity of your choice.Survived By: her daughter Paula Jane (Fite) Bounds, and grandchildren Bret Shellhorn and wife Gay; Dee Ann (Shellhorn) Long and husband Mike; Kim (Shellhorn) Mamrosh and husband Rich; 11 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
