When I think of Marjorie, I think of Philippians 4:8. She always demonstrated truth, she always spoke the truth; she was honorable and worthy of respect, wholesome, and lovely; and she also brought peace and excellence in all the places she served. This is whether she was with her husband, her children, her family, or her many friends.
I have known her for 57 years, and she was always warm and loving. I have participated with her in many of the organizations in which she served with great leadership. We met when the children were small and they all grew up together. Each of her sons are all outstanding in their own way and work well with their wives, and have been very faithful to their mother at this very difficult time.
Marjorie cared about the poor and hurting, and wanted to see Christian women united in their faith and love for each other. She was a great defender of the rights of women in the League of Women Voters. Through the Walk to Emmaus we met with a small group and shared for many years our deepest concerns and prayers.
Marjorie was a great friend and we always laughed at the fact that we were born in the same month and the same year and were a part of the Greatest Generation. I will always remember her as a great woman and friend.
