Laverne Trammell's Obituary
Marjorie "Laverne" Trammell, "Forever 29" of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed from this life on Friday, August 27, 2021 in a Tulsa hospital with family by her side. She was born in Haskell, Oklahoma to her parents, Luster Turner and Ethel Blackburn Turner. In 1955, she married Marvin Trammell and they shared in over 49 wonderful years together.
In addition to raising her 3 children, supporting her beloved husband in his work, and helping to care for her grandchildren, Laverne was an active member of Bethany Church for over 50 years. Laverne taught many age groups in Sunday School over the years, with most of those years being in the 2 & 3 year old class. She wanted to make sure that all the children knew that Jesus loved them and was their very best friend! Just ask any former class members to sing: “I love my Bible” - we bet they can do it! Through her love for the Lord and willingness to serve, she touched many lives. Laverne was deeply loved and cherished by her family, and they are comforted in knowing that she is now with her Savior and very best friend.
Laverne is survived by three daughters, Brenda Trammell of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Linda Aycock of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Heather Ellis of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Jason Aycock and his wife MariAnn of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Amanda Doty and her husband Corey of Mannford, Oklahoma and Noah Ellis of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; three great-grandchildren, Rusty Aycock, Bradley Aycock and Bentley Doty; and many friends and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Marvin Trammell and four siblings, Wallace Turner, Seldon Turner, Velma Jenkins and Juanita Moore.
Visitation will be held from 3-6 p.m. on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Floral Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Bethany Church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.
