My dear husband Mark is the love of my life, my Boaz (in the book of Ruth) who captured and filled my heart during our 37 years of marriage. We met at our ORU Biology class in early â??78, we were engaged that Fall, and immediately dedicated our lives and marriage to our Lord Jesus Christ at the Kennedy Chapel on campus. Mark did so many countless things for our familyâ?¦He found (and maintained) our Glenpool house ( we had thought living in a house was beyond us), where we raised JohnMark and JJ and lived there â??85-â??97 (so many happy memories!!), and he supervised the remodel of our current house. He brought our dogs Beauty, and Glory in our lives. He did whatever he had to do to work, that included working 3 jobs early on, later he went through 4 years of evening classes at the TU School of Law while working for the Dept of Human Services during the day. He planned all of our family vacations, even to the point of selling his beloved blue Mustang car in order to buy a Dodge Caravan so that we could travel as a family to Florida, and then take a cruise to the Bahamas when the boys were about 8 and 10. He had strong family values, he was a â??life coachâ? to young and old, and had a special gift with children in youth sports, coaching/ refereeing, Child Welfare investigations, as a Master in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, in custody issues in Family Law, and the Special Needs Sunday school class. He has been instrumental in our sonâ??s livesâ?¦He enhanced their talents by seeing to it that JohnMark went to Casia Hall during his high school years, and inspired JJ to earn all 120 Boy Scout merit badges. He was organized and disciplined, he loved music, and he did multiple heartwarming acts to demonstrate his devotion to myself and others. His mind declined especially during his last 2 years. I will not forget our daily visits the 6 months he was at the nursing home, and that during his last full night, although he was on oxygen and had breathing issues, he still managed to squeeze my hand periodically. I so look forward to reuniting in Heaven!
