Mark Eugene McGuire's Obituary
Mark was born September 15, 1970 in Muskogee, Mark was the son of Raymond Eugene and Joy Snow McGuire. Mark grew up in Vinita where he excelled in various sports. His father was a coach and a teacher. Mark was an exceptional football player for Vinita High School where he graduated with the Class of 1989. Mark redshirted in football as a freshman at Northeastern State University. He also played at NEO College in Miami and Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia. It was September of 1999 when Mark walked into the “New Attitude” salon in Catoosa for a hair appointment with a stylist named Jamie. After quite the conversation, he was sure to inquire about her phone number at the shampoo station. The couple shared many similar interests and were married January 13, 2000 at the Skiatook Revival Center. Shortly thereafter, they began raising a beautiful family together. Mark loved his family dearly. He was always involved with his children, particularly their school functions and projects. Mark’s personality could be described as outgoing and witty, yet he was also sweet, loving, and compassionate he was a true “Gentle Giant”. Naturally, most of his career was spent in a customer service role. He was employed by First Data, AT&T, Coca-Cola, and Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Mark was employed by G4S Secure Solutions at the time of his passing. He loved the Lord with all of his heart, putting God first in everything. The prison ministry was always dear to him. Mark had been involved with the Living Word Revival Time Ministries since 1995. Surviving family members include his wife Jamie McGuire; his five children: Trinity, Charity, Bethany, Zackary, and Nathanael McGuire; his mother Joy McGuire; his siblings: Karla McGuire and her son, Brett McGuire and his wife Erin and their children, Arianna and Lylia; Raymond Dale McGuire and wife Annette; brother, Jacob and his sister, Jadra; father-in-law Joe Funkhouser and his wife Jo Beth; his brother and sister-in-laws, Larry Funkhouser and wife Lisa; Debra Funkhouser, and Sarah Reitz and husband Robert, his nephews and numerous other family members and friends. Mark was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Eugene McGuire. Visitation will be Thursday, March 9, from 5-7 p.m. at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel Funeral Service will be Friday, March 10, 2017 at 3:00 p.m.
