Mark Latham's Obituary
Mark Steven Latham, age 72, passed away and entered Heaven’s gates on June 9, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born on September 17, 1951, in Tulsa to his parents Samuel and Patricia Latham, Mark leaves behind a rich legacy.
Mark met the love of his life, Kathy, whom he would go on to spend 56 loving years with. The two married and created a loving family together. Mark was a devoted husband, father, papa, great papa, brother-in-law, and cherished friend.
In his youth, Mark was a wrestler in high school. He remained deeply involved in his loved ones’ lives, coaching his sons in sports like soccer and baseball. Mark’s faith was central to his existence; he lived for the Lord and helped other family members find their own faith. His kindness and gentleness endeared him to all who knew him.
Mark was an avid woodworker, finding joy in carving wood. His craftsmanship reflected his passion and dedication. Additionally, he was a classic car enthusiast, appreciating the beauty and history of vintage automobiles.
Mark served as a deacon at South Tulsa Baptist Church, dedicating many years to the congregation. He also held the position of secretary, contributing to the church’s administration. An evangelist until the end, Mark’s unwavering faith touched the lives of those around him.
He is preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Patricia Latham; grandparents Leland and Edna Baker; and grandma Eva Eargle.
Mark is survived by his wife Kathy Latham; children Aaron Latham and his wife Jinger, Benji Latham and his wife Whitney, and Chris Latham and his wife Tiffany; grandchildren Rebekah Emrich and her husband Zach Emrich, Leah Gehrke and her husband Travis, Andrew Latham, Susanna Latham, Evangeline Mooring and her husband Elijah, Madelyn Latham, Samuel Latham, Ruth Latham, Paul Latham, Patience Latham, Atticus Latham, Marty Latham, Esther Latham, Lauren Latham, and Athanasius Latham; great grandchildren Luke Emrich, Everly Gehrke, and Gideon Mooring; brother and sister in laws Ron Robinson and his wife Darlene and sister Patty and her husband Gary Belew; aunts, cousins, and other family members and friends who will forever cherish Marks memory.
Mark Steven Latham will be remembered for his love, kindness, and unwavering commitment to family, faith, and community. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him. May he rest in eternal peace.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024 at 2:30 PM at South Tulsa Baptist Church with Pastor Eric Costanzo officiating.
