Marlene A. Gray's Obituary
Marlene Ann Gray, also known as Marsbar, Chita, and Nannie was born on November 26, 1952 in Aberdeen, Scotland to John and Jean Profeit. She departed this life on December 26, 2017 in Sand Springs at the age of 65 years and 1 month.Marlene moved from Scotland to the United States when she was 9 years old. She graduated from Serramonte High School in Daly City, California. At 19 years of age, she moved to Illinois. She lived in Illinois for 10 years before moving to Oklahoma in 1982. In 1983, she started working for the State of Oklahoma and did so until her retirement in 2009. After her retirement, she held a part-time job at LIFE Senior Services, in which she found true enjoyment in working with senior citizens. She recently fully retired to stay at home to help take care of her newest great grandchild, Jeslyn.She had many hobbies that included fishing, going to the lake, boating, gardening, crocheting, and attending her grandchildren’s activities. She was a very giving person and if anyone; family, friend, or stranger had a need she would do whatever it took to make sure that need was met. She enjoyed delivering meals to senior citizens at Christmas time. She took great pride in her Scottish heritage and enjoyed being involved in local Scottish festivities. She raised several Scottie dogs throughout her life that she loved dearly. Her most favorite thing to do was spend time with her family.Marlene is survived by one son, Ronald and wife Nicole Morrison of Mannford; two daughters, Jennifer and husband Mark Howard of Beggs; Rhonda and husband Jerod Wood of Pryor; nine grandchildren, Nicolas and Zachary Morrison; Taiylor and Hailey Howard; Tyler, Shelby, Sarah, Jacob, and Sydney Wood; three great grandchildren, Chase, Paisley, and Jeslyn; her father, John Profeit of California; one sister, Kathi and Mike Webb of Broken Arrow and their children Vicki Barrington, Kyle Webb, and Andrea Glenn; two brothers, Duane and wife Rosie Profeit and John Profeit, both of California; companion, Barry Bredensteiner; and two very loved Scottie dogs; Maxwell and Laddie. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jean Profeit; and step-mother, Jacqueline Profeit.Funeral Service to be held Sunday, December 31, 2017 at 2:00 p.m.-Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
