Marsha Ann Roberts' Obituary
Marsha Ann (Scoles) Roberts was born on July 24, 1954, in Miami, Oklahoma, to her loving parents, Morris Albert Scoles and Gladys Audrey (Armstrong) Scoles. As a child, Marsha's family moved to El Paso, Texas, due to her father's service in the Army, and her youth was marked by frequent relocations as her father's military duties took them to various places.
During her teenage years, Marsha's family relocated to Okinawa, Japan, where she experienced a unique and culturally rich upbringing. She then returned to El Paso, Texas, where she graduated from Burgess High School in 1972, setting the stage for her journey into young adulthood.
In her adventurous youth, Marsha lived in Atlanta, Georgia, and later embarked on a remarkable 20-year chapter of her life in Amsterdam. In 2018, she made her way back to Tulsa, where she continued to embrace life's adventures.
Marsha shared her life with her beloved cat, Janie, and was an active member of the Tulsa Ukulele Club, demonstrating her passion for music and her free-spirited, gypsy soul. She had a deep appreciation for the simple things in life and adopted a minimalist lifestyle.
While Marsha could be stubborn at times, her strong passion, outgoing nature, and deep commitment to family were undeniable. She cherished the tradition of bringing loved ones together for Sunday family dinners, with Kathy taking charge of the cooking during these gatherings and Gary showcasing his culinary skills at home.
Marsha was preceded in death by her parents, Morris Albert Scoles and Gladys Audrey Scoles. She is survived by her loving husband, Gary Roberts, and her children: daughter Kathy Langston and son-in-law David Langston, son Matt Roberts, son John Roberts, son Bruce O’Connor, and son William Britt. She is also survived by her brother, Morris Scoles, as well as her cherished grandchildren: Chance Watson, Aysia Watson, Ashley Roberts, Alexi Price, Breanna Hopper, and Chyna Roberts. Marsha leaves behind four great-grandchildren and her faithful feline companion, Janie.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on September 30, 2023, at Asbury Church in the Mason Chapel, located at 6767 S Mingo Rd, Tulsa, OK 74133.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the John 3:16 Mission, a non-profit organization dedicated to sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ while providing for the physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of the homeless and at-risk individuals in Tulsa.
