Martha Wilma Emerson's Obituary
Martha “Marty” Hanna Emerson, age 82, passed this life on Wednesday, March 20th, 2024 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on Monday, March 31st, 1941 in Fort Worth, Texas to her parents Harold Hanna and Wilma (Colson) Hanna. She was a beautiful baby girl weighing 7lbs and 14oz and was 19 inches long. Martha was a graduate of Rogers high school in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was known in school as “long tall sally”. Martha continued her education past high school and went on to attend OSU and then went to work for SWB phone company as an operator for 10 years. Following her career at SWB, she then went on to work for Ford Glass Company in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
During Martha's earlier years, she met a gentleman from Canada, and they later married. Although, their marriage was short lived, as his career as a pilot would unfortunately cause his passing in an airplane crash. This was difficult for Martha and she did live alone for some time. Martha then met a gentleman named Garry, who would soon become the love of her life. Garry and Martha had many special times together and had an abundance of happiness and joy within their marriage.
She is preceded in death by her parents Harold and Wilma Colson Hanna.
Martha is survived by her husband of 38 years, Garry Emerson; daughter Teri Lynn and her three children; brother Thomas and his wife Liz and their children; along with other family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
