Martha Goins' Obituary
On Monday, October 14th, 2019, Martha Ann (Figart) Goins, loving mama, wife, grandma, and great-grandma (Gigi), went to be with Jesus at the age of 84.Martha Ann was born on July 25th, 1935 in Red Fork, Oklahoma to Nita (Bland) and Talmage Figart. She was a straight A student who graduated from Webster High School in 1953 and married Bobby Goins, her boisterous, good-humored soulmate. Together they had 4 sons, Michael, Kenneth, Ronald Tal, and Jeffrey, and a daughter, Kathryn.Martha loved sewing, doing crossword puzzles, and watching Jeopardy! Her love of Jesus radiated to all she met–she was extremely generous, loving, and a caregiver to all. Martha was a loyal friend, keeping up friendships from “kindie-garten” until her death, never forgetting a birthday or anniversary. But if she was a full cup of sugar, she was also a quarter cup of salt, always ribbing her grandkids about their life choices and fashion styles, only to follow it up with the warmest hugs and the most powerful pats on the back.Martha is survived by her daugher Kathi (Joe Jones), sons Mike and Jeff (Levi), granddaughters Bethanie (Bhadri Verduzco), Molly Bryant (Ryan Gentzler), Julie, and Olivia, grandson Sam, and great-grandchildren Alex, Seth, Noa, and Asher, as well as a wide network of loving extended family and friends.A viewing will be hosted at Floral Haven on Thursday, October 17th from 5:00-8:00pm. A celebration of life will be hosted at First United Methodist Church in Tulsa on Friday, October 18th at 11:00 am. All are welcome. Should friends desire, contributions may be sent in her name to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, a cause close to Martha’s heart.
