Martha Ann McGinnis' Obituary
Martha Ann McGinnis, age 89, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2022, in Leander, Texas. Martha was born to Bridget Marion Price and Clyde Price on March 3, 1933, in Okemah, Oklahoma. She was a 1951 graduate of McAlester High School and went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree and her Master’s degree from the University of Tulsa. Martha married Glen Doyle McGinnis in 1951, they had two sons, Larry Stephen McGinnis, and Timothy Glen McGinnis. Martha worked for many years in special education, showing an unending love and compassion for children. After retirement, Martha spent many years volunteering in disaster relief for The American Red Cross and enjoyed traveling the world with friends and family alike. She loved an adventure, and she truly loved helping other people. She was an active member in her church and loved the Lord, showing His love and light through her care and kindness to others. Martha was intelligent, kind, witty, and always good for a laugh and advice. She would talk to anyone for hours and had the ability to make you feel seen and loved. Martha enjoyed spending time with her family around the kitchen table, relaxing at Lake Tenkiller, celebrating holidays, and practical jokes. Martha is preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Bridget Price, her husband Glen McGinnis, her brother Charles “Bud” Price, her son Steven McGinnis, and her granddaughter Felicity McGinnis. She is survived by her siblings Larry Price and Maryn Goodson and her husband Leon Goodson, and her son Timothy McGinnis and his wife, Becky McGinnis. She is also survived by her grandchildren Ben McGinnis and his wife Ally McGinnis, Allison Balut, Matraca Nettles and her husband Doug Nettles, as well as great-grandchildren Cooper Balut, Carson Drabek, Kade Drabek, Juliet McGinnis, Janey McLemore, Paxton Nettles, and Eli Nettles as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members. She will be so deeply missed.
Family, friends, and anyone touched by the life of Martha McGinnis are invited to Floral Haven Funeral Home, 6500 S 129th E Ave, Broken Arrow, OK 74012, on Saturday, December 3rd, at 3 PM to reminisce and celebrate her life.
Visitation will be on Friday, December 2 from 5-7 pm
