Martha Mae O'Flinn's Obituary
Martha Mae O’Flinn, age 92, passed away on January 7, 2015 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Martha was born on June 2, 1922 in Arcola, Illinois to her parents Horace Watson Mulliken and Ethel Bartholomew Mulliken. After her graduation of general education and Business College, she began working as a professional secretary for several locations before working for the Principal of Union High School. Martha retired from Union High School after ten years of service in 1986. Martha married the love of her life Joseph O’Flinn on July 17, 1956. In their retirement, she went square dancing and volunteered at St. Francis Hospital and the Tulsa International Airport. Martha was a member of Memorial Park Christian Church and then later The Kirk of the Hills. She was a caring, determined, loving woman with a big heart. She cherished her family (especially her grandchildren) and loved working in the garden. Martha is preceded in death by her husband Joseph, her parents Horace and Ethel Mulliken, and her two sisters June Martin and Roberta Chambers. She is survived by her son Daniel (Dawn) O’Flinn, her three grandchildren Mandie Brunell, Hilary (Chad) Heim, and Brandon O’Flinn, her great grandchild Hayleigh Heim, and several nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed. Visitation will be at Floral Haven Funeral Home of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 from 9 am to 11am. Graveside services will be in Floral Haven Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at 11 am.
