Marva Irene Reed's Obituary
Marva Irene Reed
March 10, 1950 – July 9, 2026
Marva Irene Reed, beloved mother, grandmother, friend, author, and woman of unwavering faith, passed peacefully on July 9, 2026, at the age of 76.
Marva lived a life marked by love, perseverance, and devotion to both God and family. A devoted Christian, her faith guided her throughout every season of life. She was deeply involved in her church community and treasured the friendships she developed there, especially the special bond she shared with her church ladies. Her love for the Lord was evident in the kindness, grace, and encouragement she extended to everyone she met.
Marva was a remarkable woman whose determination inspired all who knew her. As a single mother raising three children, she worked tirelessly to provide for her family. Even after long days at work, often not arriving home until after 6:00 in the evening, she always found time to help with homework, school projects, and the countless responsibilities of motherhood. Her strength, sacrifice, and endless love created a foundation upon which her children built their lives.
Education was one of Marva's proudest accomplishments. Demonstrating that it is never too late to pursue a dream, she graduated from college at the age of 50, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Her dedication and perseverance served as an example to her children, grandchildren, and all who knew her.
Marva enjoyed a successful career with AT&T before retiring, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and professionalism. Beyond her career, she was a published author who proudly wrote and published multiple books, sharing her creativity and passion with others.
She found joy in life's simple pleasures. Marva loved flowers and gardening, especially her beautiful dinner plate hibiscus and violets, which she nurtured with great care. She was happiest sitting on her back patio with a cup of coffee, enjoying the beauty around her, and watching the world go by. She loved traveling and people-watching, finding delight in every new place and every story she imagined behind a stranger's smile. One of her most cherished memories was her first trip to Colorado with her daughter, April, a journey that remained close to her heart.
Marva also enjoyed water aerobics and valued the friendships and community that came with it. Her loyal dogs, Oliver and Walter, were the center of her world, providing companionship, comfort, and unconditional love. They brought her immense happiness and were rarely far from her thoughts.
She is survived by her children David C. Reed and Kasie Memmer; April Reed McCully and Patric; and Jason C. Parker Reed, and Colby Parker; her grandchildren, Eric Z. Reed, and Brittany; Michael Reed, and Missy; and Kaitlyn McCully, and Ari Tran; her sister Rose Moore, and Albert; and nieces Christina Teague, and Jimmy; and Stephanie McGann, and Dave; along with a host of other family, friends, and found family, that will forever miss and love her.
Above all, Marva will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her resilient spirit, her generous heart, and the love she poured into her family and friends. Her legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched, the lessons she taught, and the love she freely gave.
She was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by her children, family members, church family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her.
"Well done, good and faithful servant." – Matthew 25:23
