Mary Anna Lee Ames' Obituary
We regretfully announce the passing of Mary Anna Lee Ames. She was called to her heavenly home on March 4th,2023, after 99 years on this earth.
Anna Lee was born on January 8th, 1924, to Lorean Elizabeth Snoddy-Weeks and Lee Andrew Weeks in Arkansas. She was the second eldest. Anna Lee cherished each and every one of her siblings dearly. She met Charles Robert (Bob) Ames in childhood. The two soon became inseparable. They were married for over 74 years. Anna Lee and Bob had one loving son, Charles Randall Ames.
Anna Lee was a dedicated daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who lived her life in the service of the Lord and her family. Anna Lee upheld the tenants of Christianity during her working life as a medical assistant for several private practice doctors over her long career in the medical field. She was known to everyone as a prayer warrior in Christ, never missing an opportunity to bless someone with a prayer.
She was passionate about collecting Festa dishes, bird watching, quilting, and her family. When she wasn’t filling her home with warmth, kindness, and homegrown vegetables, she could be found in the church. Her family always came first. She was our biggest cheerleader and constant supporter. Above all else, she instilled the values and lessons of the Bible to every person who had the honor of being around her.
Anna Lee was preceded in death by her Parents Mr. and Mrs. Lee Weeks. Her sibling Dorothy Hull and her beloved husband Charles Robert (Bob) Ames. She is survived by her siblings Annabell Hunter, Charles Weeks, Hellen Farwell, Bill Weeks and Carolyn Snodgrass. Her only son Charles Randal Ames. Her two Grandchildren, Erika Lee Anderson and Charles Robert Ames, and her Great-grandchildren Haley Nichole Ames, Maxwell Lee Anderson, Amelia lee Anderson, and Kaydee Elizabeth Ames. The hole left by her absence here on earth will be impossible to fill.
The family requests that all flowers and notes are sent to Floral Haven Funeral home. There will be a graveside service on March 29th at 2 p.m. at Floral Haven Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be held immediately following the service at the Family Center on the grounds of the Floral Haven Cemetery Complex.
