Mary Ann Roberts' Obituary
Mary Ann Schneider Roberts completed her earthly journey surrounded by her family on July 12, 2025. She died from complications of Lewy Body Dementia.
She was born May 27, 1939 in Louisville, Kentucky to Robert P and Magdalene E (Faller) Schneider. She completed her high school education at Urseline Academy in Louisville.
Mary Ann married Kenneth Roberts on May 19, 1958 and they welcomed 3 children to this union: Rebecca (Becky), Neil and Victor. The family moved to Skiatook, Oklahoma in 1968 and raised their children there. She completed an Associate’s degree while her children were in high school. Following her divorce, Mary Ann moved to Tulsa in 1985 and lived there until her death.
She took up running in the late 80s and made many life-long friends in her Runners club, including Ros Elder. She participated in a variety of 5ks and the Tulsa Runs.
One of the most important facets of her life was her family. She loved spending time with her children and grand-children. She could be counted on to document any gathering in photos whether you wanted her to or not. Mary Ann was a OKC Thunder fan, and loved watching OSU and OU football. Many evenings she was usually found watching Blue Bloods, NCIS and other crime-type shows. She volunteered at the food pantry at Church of the Resurrection and helped provide food for funeral dinners at the church. She loved John Wayne and her miniature schnauzer Holly.
After working for many years in the Skiatook School system, she was employed at the U.S. Federal Probation office as a secretarial supervisor and it was there that she formed a friendship with Diane Collier. After retirement, Mary Ann worked seasonally for Visiting Nurses and added Clare Crites to her circle.
She is survived by her children Becky Simpson (Forrest), Neil (Teresa) and Vic (Lisa), grandchildren Kate McDaniel (Shaun), Jake Simpson (Leah), Megan Robbins (Jeremy), Ben Roberts, and Addison (Taylor) and Colton (Cortney) Roberts. Great-grandchildren are Evelyn and Beckett McDaniel, Raven Simpson, Dawson and Graham Roberts, Cohen Roberts, and Cole and Madden Robbins and a grandbaby due in October.
She also leaves behind her brother Robert Schneider, his wife Barbara and their as well as many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandson Luke Simpson.
The family would like to thank the many doctors in the St. Francis medical system and St Francis hospice for taking such good care of her over the years and in her final days.
