Mary Sue Arrington's Obituary
Mary Sue Orvis Arrington was born on February 8, 1934 to Ina and Otis Orvis in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. The fifth child and fourth daughter. She was pre-deceased by brothers, Billy and Ronny Orvis and sisters, Laura Ruth Orvis, Louise Haverland, Betty Singleton, her husband of fifty-five years, James S. Arrington, and two infant children. She leaves behind her sons, J. Gregory Arrington, Michael A. Arrington and her daughter, Susan M. Arrington and daughter-in-law Laura Belmonte, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, her sister, Shirley A. Wilder, many nieces and nephews and her friend whom she considered another sister, Rosemary Arrington. Sue was born barely breathing with the cord wrapped around her neck, but that rocky beginning was nothing but a challenge to her. Her feisty nature burst out and by the time she was 8 months old, she was already walking. Always the smallest in her classes and in the family, but her personality was larger than life. She graduated from Will Rogers High School in 1952 and worked for Sooner Pipe in Tulsa previous to her marriage to Jim in 1955. Sue was a spirited individual with a zest for life that made everyone around her happy. Her laughter was infectious and her sense of humor was one of her trademarks. Her strength was amazing as she met life’s problems head-on and persevered until she found a solution or things got better. She enjoyed gardening, a love she inherited from her mother, and spent many hours in her flower gardens. She also enjoyed playing bridge and had a deep love for her beloved miniature Schnauzers. In any social gathering, Sue was the bright light in the room. People wanted to be near her because she made them laugh. It was her gift to all who knew her and loved her. The memories will always be in our hearts and the laughter will be what we will recall when we think of Sue. Memorial Service, Monday, Nov.9th, 2015-10:00am-Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
