Mary Baker's Obituary
Mary Baker, lovingly known as "Aunt Dump," passed away on December 20, 2023, at the age of 88. She was born on July 29, 1935, in Stilwell, Oklahoma, to John Johnson and Martha Johnson (Harrison).
Mary was a talented seamstress and had a passion for sewing that brought joy to both herself and those around her. She was the heart of her family, serving as everyone's favorite aunt and the trusted hub of their lives. Her warmth and kindness touched the lives of many, and her presence will be sorely missed.
Mary began her career at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, where she demonstrated her exceptional work ethic and commitment to serving others. Her passion for her work led her to join AT&T when it acquired Southwestern Bell, where she continued to make a meaningful impact.
In addition to her contributions to the telecommunications industry, Mary also shared her talents at Avis Rent A Car, where she brought her expertise in customer service and management.
Mary is survived by her loving family and friends, who will cherish her memory and the impact she made during her professional career.
One of Mary's greatest joys in life was visiting Branson, where she created countless cherished memories with her loved ones. She was known for her exceptional culinary skills, especially her delectable banana pudding and her mouthwatering cooking, which brought people together and created lasting moments of happiness. She especially looked forward to our huge family Thanksgiving every year. This was a special time for her and her family to get together and share memories.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband Robert “Bob” Baker, parents, brothers Lee, Wayne, Ronnie Johnson, Charles Harrison, Alfred Harrison, Floyd Johnson, sisters Margie Mabe, Florene Dearman, Rhetha Harris, Ruby Stacy.
Mary is survived by her brother Jim Johnson, twenty-three nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews, her special friends Mary Shaum and Golda Kelley Watts, along with many other friends and loved ones.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 28th, 2023 from 5-7 PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home
Funeral services to be held Friday, December 29th, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Memorial Baptist Church. Interment to be held at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens at 2:30 PM.
