Mary L Bishop's Obituary
Mary Bishop, 101, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on October 19. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Mary was known as a “professional mama and grandma,” always ready with a kind word, a laugh, or a handmade blanket. Though her husband passed away many years ago, she carried his memory with her always and lived in the home he built, cherishing it until the end.
Mary’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her daughter Wanda East and her husband Jerry East, her son Jim Bishop and his wife Pam Bishop, and her sister Peggy Hathcoat. She was the proud grandmother, great-grandmother and great- great- grandmother of Nena, Robert, Bryan, Amy, Danny, Josh, Kyla, Matthew, Brayden, Paislee, Brycin, Liza, Blake, Lovely, Abigail, and Amelia, all of whom brought her endless happiness and pride. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews.
Mary’s life was full of warmth, wisdom, and spunk. She had a special talent for crocheting, loved bowling, and had a passion for baking, creating the most delicious homemade pies and cookies that she always shared with love. Her laughter, stories, and gentle heart will be forever missed and lovingly remembered. She will be laid to rest in Tulsa with her beloved husband. In keeping with her fun and loving spirit, Mary requested that her family celebrate her life with a pizza party.
