Mary Kathryn Boyd's Obituary
Mary Kathryn Gorman Boyd, God’s special little lamb, went home to her Good Shepherd on April 4, 2012. She was born on June 30, 1940 in Okarche, Oklahoma. She was preceded in Glory by her parents, Charles Edward and Neoma Easley Gorman; her brother, Joseph Charles Gorman; and her sister, Francis Gorman Gordon. She graduated from Central High School in 1959. Mary worked at People’s State Bank for many years, she worked as a secretary for Faith Baptist Church for several years, and in 1971, she began working alongside her husband at Boyd’s TV City and later Sonshine Donuts for many years. She and her husband Avery have always been involved in their local church. She served faithfully in Bible Study Fellowship for many years in various capacities. In 2000, she found her true passion, training and equipping women, to disciple other women. In 2005 she became a certified counselor for National Association of Nouthetic Counseling. She spent the remainder of her days serving at Grace Bible Church. She loved Avery, her kids, grand kids, and all things lambs. She is survived by Avery,her loving husband of 50 plus years; her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Lisa Boyd; her grandchildren, Jordan and Victoria Boyd, and many nieces and nephews. She was dearly loved by many and will be greatly missed! Family has asked that donations be made to the National Association of Nouthetic Counseling, 3600 W. 96th St Indianapolis, IN 46268. Visitation will be held 4:00-9:00 PM Friday with family to greet from 4:00-6:00 PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
