Mary Ann Byers' Obituary
Mary Ann Byers
9/28/68 – 10/05/21
Mary was born in Erie, Pennsylvania. Although she was barely out of high school when she left to serve in The US Navy, it is important to recognize how much of her heart never left the place she called home.
She was a young mother to three children, who miss her dearly. Forever grateful for her love, protection, and character. Notably, that special quality of strength found in a single mother.
Beginning in 1995 as a 911 dispatcher, and eventually supervisor, she gave herself to those in the greatest need for 26 years. The work was daunting, unyielding. And she not only excelled at it, she saved lives. There are individuals alive today because of her who will never know her name. And in tragedy, her voice was often the last thing someone heard. Knowing who they had by their side is a comfort.
Mary is remembered as a loving friend, daughter, sister, mother --and most exceptionally-- a proud grandmother. Those fortunate enough are proud to have known her, we mourn and grieve an exceptional loss.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 AM, Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at the Floral Haven Funeral Chapel in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
