Mary Ann Carlisle's Obituary
Mary Ann Carlisle, 83, peacefully entered into God’s kingdom on the 21st of December 2022.
When she passed, she was surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. Ann was born to Zeb and Elzie Watson on December 15, 1939 in Glenville, North Carolina. Ann had five siblings, Buck, Sue, Eldon, Maybell, and Janie, who loved growing up in the beautiful smoky mountains. When Ann was younger, she enjoyed playing basketball, and was an all state champion. Ann was also a devoted academic, and earned salutatorian from her high school. After graduating, she had an academic scholarship to Western Carolina University. After completing one year, she moved to Columbus Georgia and attended Blanton Business
College. After graduating, she began working for a law firm as a secretary.
In Columbus, Georgia, Ann met Allen Carlisle on a blind date setup by a friend of Allen. It was love at first sight and a match that was truly made in heaven. Ann and Allen went on to have two daughters, Jennifer Sue Slater and Deborah Ann Carlisle-Price. Ann was a loyal servant to God and held a gift for giving to others. Ann and Allen moved to Oklahoma City in September 1975, and later moved with their daughters to Tulsa in 1979 and have been residents since. Ann worked at the Jenks Public Schools print shop as a receptionist for twenty-two years of her life, and became a staple in the school district. She also enjoyed watching football, basketball, spending time with her family, and giving anything she could to improve the life of those around her.
Ann joins her mother, father, brother, and older sister, along with her brother-in-laws in heaven. Ann is survived by many loving family members, including her husband Allen Carlisle, her daughters Debbie Carlisle-Price, Jennifer Slater, her sister Janie Robinson, and her four grandchildren Grant and Leigh Slater, Sydney and Tanner Price, and her two son-in laws Dan Slater and Taft Price.
While this is the end of Ann’s physical life on Earth, it is only the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey in heaven. She embodied grace, grit, and love. She touched the hearts of everyone she met. She was a paragon of what it means to be an obedient child of God, a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother.
