I met Mary in the early 1970Ã?Â¢Ã¢â??Â¬Ã¢â??Â¢s. She was a friendly, loving woman. She welcomed me into the family, as I was engaged to her husbandÃ?Â¢Ã¢â??Â¬Ã¢â??Â¢s cousin, Danny Klein. I loved to sit and chat with her. Over the last 10-12 years we had some great visits when David and Mary traveled to California for Navy Seabees reunions. They took the time to go out of their way to visit us. They loved family and people. It was a wonderful time of reconnecting and talking about old times. Mary took the time to keep the family connected through her letters which I appreciated so much. I have one postmarked April 4th of this year and I will always cherish it. I believe Mary and David are reunited in the presence of their Lord and Savior Jesus. I look forward to the next visit with her!

My early memories of Mary go back to the early 60Ã?Â¢Ã¢â??Â¬Ã¢â??Â¢s. She was the wonderful wife of my cousin David. I was a little boy growing up in Jenks under the care of my Grandma & Grandpa Kelsey. Mary was a special person who cared about others and looked out for my well-being. She was always making sure that my brother and I were cared for properly. Whenever I visited the house on Latimer Place it was always a pleasure. Nine days before Mary passed into heaven, I had the privilege of visiting with her. Mary had just found out that she was terminally ill, yet she was still filled with peace and joy. ThatÃ?Â¢Ã¢â??Â¬Ã¢â??Â¢s the Mary I know and will miss.

I am saddened to learn of Mary's passing. Both she and David were wonderful people. David was my cousin but they both were more like uncle and aunt to Danny and me because of the age difference. Mary was a caring woman who was always interested in me. Since David's passing I had several conversations with her over the phone when she updated me on her family. In 2001, she and David traveled to Indiana for our daughters wedding. It was a surprise and will always remember that. May God bless you all, especially Sondra, Tim, Stephen, and John. I am so sorry for your loss and sorry I cannot be present with you today.

Mary was a wonderful neighbor & friend; we live next to her & David for 41 years. She will be greatly missed. We called Mary & David the Mayors of Latimer Place. We will miss you old friend but we know we will all be together again one day. John & Lettie Upchurch
