Mary L. Chandler's Obituary
Mary L. Chandler, age 88, passed away peacefully at her home in Tulsa, Oklahoma, surrounded by her loving family on September 5, 2024. Born on January 10, 1936, in Welling, Oklahoma, Mary was the cherished daughter of Howard and Merle Huntley Mauck.
On February 13, 1951, Mary married the love of her life, Harold Leon Chandler. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. Mary was a dedicated and hardworking woman, serving as the owner/operator and plant supervisor for Bender Direct Mail. She also enjoyed selling Avon and working as a cashier in the cafeteria at McDonnell Douglas in her earlier years.
Mary had a passion for fishing and often participated in tournaments with her husband, where she proudly beat him several times catching the bigger Black Bass. She was an avid sports fan, enjoying football, golf, basketball, and baseball and many others on TV. Mary loved spending time camping, boating, and fishing on the lake. The family always enjoyed her wonderful fish fry.
Mary cherished her time playing Bunco with her friends, and had a special talent for sneaking candy to her grandchildren. Growing up in a farming family, she valued hard work and the simple joys of life. Above all, Mary loved being around her husband, Harold, and spending time with family and friends.
Mary is survived by her devoted husband, Harold Chandler; her daughter, Debbie “Deb” Davis and her husband Denny; her three grandchildren, Mandie Dalton and her husband Scott, Heather Chandler, and Ashley Chandler; her five great-grandchildren, Davis Dalton, Payton Rikkola, Noah Rikkola, Kenzie Rikkola, and Amira Chandler-Purcell; her four sisters, Pat Moss, Ima Frazier, Lucille Longhoffer, and Pauline Gardner; and many friends and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Larry Chandler, and seven siblings.
Visitation will be held from 3-7 PM on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Floral Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 PM on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Floral Haven’s Rose Chapel, with burial to follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
Mary's warmth, kindness, and love for her family and friends will be deeply missed. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
