Mary Lena Conner's Obituary
Mary Lena Conner, born on May 10th, 1934 in Hobbes, New Mexico, passed away on September 5th, 2013 at 3:15 pm. She was surrounded by loved ones. She is survived by her husband of nearly 65 years, Gilbert J. Conner, one daughter, Karen Rhoden, three granddaughters, seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. She is also survived by her adoring and faithful companion of several years, Scooter, her beloved dog. She was preceeded in death by her mother, Lena Burch, her father, Joe Price and her oldest daughter, Patricia Conner. Mary’s life was devoted to her family, friends and pets. She was an accomplished musician, playing several instruments, although mainly the guitar, and singing. Music was a large part of her life, and she wrote notebooks full of songs which she performed with her bluegrass band, Kentucky Blue. She lived a life full of love, laughter, music and joy. Mary was loved immensely by all those who knew her, and she loved immensely in return. She inspired goodness in all of her family and friends, and now we all strive to carry her songs in our hearts. Her service will take place at Floral Haven, on Tuesday, September 10th and 10 am, with graveside service following at 11 am. All family and friends are welcome to join us in the Floral Haven family center afterwards for refreshments and share your stories of what Mary meant to you. We look forward to hearing from you.
