One of the first days after moving to Tulsa, Mary had drawn a map of the city, handed it to me and said," could you run to these places and do these errands for me? I don't think you will have any problems finding your way around with this map." I did do the errands and never had a problem finding my way around. So, my thanks to her for the confidence she had in me, it means so much!
Here are just a few… Staying the night, watching (Nickelodeon) Nick at Nite half the night thru and grandma sometimes sleeping with her book on her chest /sometimes reading on the couch next to us on the floor. Yet before the sun even came up I'd roll over and she'd be sitting at the table drinking coffee. I remember old western country playing ever so quietly in the background of whatever was going on around the dining room table. She use to pick us up in the summer time to eat lunch ride bikes and go swimming. She always seemed to have raisins and marshmallow in stock for me. We made my first patchwork quilt together. We painted pottery together. She bought a little jar of gold paint just to paint the corn on the many unicorn statues she made for me. Many trips to Iowa with her and how we'd stop halfway there to stay in a motel. My most fondest memories were camping at Fort Gibson lake in the Winnebago. I could go on and on but those were a few of my favorites.
