Mary Sue Golden, a beloved presence in the lives of her family and friends, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2023, at the age of 83. Born on March 11, 1940, in Afton, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of James and Opal Oakley.
Throughout her career, Sue dedicated her skills and passion to the art of hairstyling. With her expertise and flair, she served the communities of Broken Arrow and Tulsa, Oklahoma, leaving a lasting impression on her clients. Her clients not only received beautiful hairstyles but also experienced the care and compassion that Sue brought to her craft.
Nature held a special place in Sue's heart, and she found solace and joy in the great outdoors. Gardening was her way of connecting with the earth's beauty, and her meticulous attention to detail ensured that her five-acre property remained a sight to behold. Sue's green thumb and unwavering dedication made her garden a sanctuary of colors and fragrances. Above all else, Sue cherished her family with all her heart. Her 63-year marriage to her beloved husband, Wayne Golden, stood as a testament to their enduring love and commitment. They exchanged their vows on December 27, 1956, in Miami, Oklahoma, embarking on a journey filled with shared dreams, challenges, and countless cherished memories.
In addition to her other talents and roles, Sue was renowned for her culinary skills. Her kitchen was a place of love and nourishment, where she showcased her talent as a great cook.
Sue's memory lives on through the love she bestowed upon her grandchildren: Brittnie Clemens and her husband Jared, Kim Cade and her husband Doyle, Timothy Golden, Chris Golden, and Dagan Clark. She also leaves behind a legacy in her great-grandchildren: Jerrah, Addison, Conner, Haven, Ireland, Aiden, and Aubree. Sue's love and affection were boundless, and her family was the focal point of her life. She leaves behind a lasting impression of devotion and care that will continue to inspire and guide her loved ones for generations to come.
