Mary Beth Langston's Obituary
Mary Beth Langston was born August 19, 1952 to Charles and Marjorie Olmstead in Shell Rock, Iowa. She graduated High School in 1970 from N.R. Crozier Technical High School in Dallas, Texas where she was involved in Charm Club and majored in English and Cosmetology with plans to be a beautician. Mary Beth earned her Bachelor’s degree from Eastfield College for Information Technology in 1996. She has had multiple careers of which include beautician and IT manager.
Throughout her life she has lived in many places like: Shell Rock, Iowa, Dallas, Texas, Arvada, Colorado, and lastly Tulsa, Oklahoma. She had a love of music and was very involved in band and orchestra where she played clarinet, bass clarinet and saxophone, as well as piano.
Mary Beth was very active in her traveling choir, The Singing Church Women of Oklahoma, as well. She made lasting friendships in all of her musical endeavors. Mary Beth also came to love sewing and embroidery as her mother Marjorie taught her from a young age. She made all sorts of things from bookmarks to bowl cozies to quilts, and everything in between. Her love of the craft developed into a home business where she shared her beautiful creations with others.
Mary Beth Langston was 73 years old when she passed on June 19th, 2026 at 10:48pm. She was made to be very comfortable and was able to spend her time with her two sons Robert Alsbrooks and David Sechrest. She is preceded in her passing by her parents, Charles and Marjorie Olmstead, as well as her siblings Timothy and Keith Olmstead, and sister Eunice Harvey. She is survived by her sons Robert Alsbrooks and David Sechrest, 7 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
The viewing is June 25, 2026 at the Floral Haven Visitation Suites from 4pm to 7pm.
Mary Beth’s celebration of life will take place on June 26, 2026 at 10 o’clock in the morning at Faith Baptist Church in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. There will then be a funeral procession to thegraveside service at her final place of rest in The Spirit of Oklahoma section at Floral HavenCemetery in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. The officiant for the service is Robert Alsbrooks, the Pallbearers are David Sechrest, Matthew Olmstead, Dalton Alsbrooks, Steven Long, Trevor Bagwell, and Dillon Russell. Honorary Pallbearers include Jacob Abad and Robert Alsbrooks.
