Mary Virginia Mattke's Obituary
Mary Virginia Mattke, 80, of Verdigris graduated to Heaven on August 4, 2021 surrounded by her family at Saint John’s Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Verdigris and enjoyed singing in the church choir, teaching Sunday school class, growing and nurturing flowers and her family. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, George Otis Hawkins and Hazel Belle Hawkins. Mary was survived by her brother, Charles “Buddy” Hawkins of Texas, and sister, Beverly Papania of Oregon. Mary was also survived by her husband of 58 sweet years, Paul W., retired civil engineer – now of the home, daughters Pamela Jarrett and Melissa May of Claremore, Suzanne Mattke of Bartlesville, son Paul Mattke of Broken Arrow, sons-in-law, Johnny Jarrett, Daniel May, Cory Fehr, daughter-in-Law Sharon Mattke, grandchildren and spouses Megan and Jacob Elliott, Kacie Mattke, Jacob Mattke, Christopher and Jordan Jarrett, and Mary Emma Fehr Mattke.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 8, 2021 from 1:00-5:00 p.m. at Floral Haven Chapel. A funeral service will be held to celebrate Mary’s life on Monday, August 9, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Floral Haven Cemetery. Donations may be made in her honor to the First Baptist Church of Verdigris.
