Mary Murray, age 88, a resident in Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed from this life Monday, January 12, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Mary Elizabeth was born February 10, 1937 to Paul John and Betty Lou (Cermak) Bruckner in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Mary went to high school at Mt. St. Mary's in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and college at Southern Nazarene University. She worked at Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma for 24 years prior to retiring in 1996.
Mary liked to play golf, travel, and did volunteer work Thru Assistance League of San Antonio, Texas.
Mary will be dearly missed by her loving family: children: Paulette Groth and husband John, John "Tony" Byrd and wife Kelli, Kenneth Byrd and wife Susan; daughter-in-law: Laureen Byrd; 8 grandchildren: Donovan (Byrd) Cook and wife Kristie, Kendra Seccombe and husband Shane, Kelly Vermillion and husband Rodney, Christopher Thomas and wife Heather, Nathan Lee and wife Sonia, Brandon Byrd and wife Kaylee, Brittany Byrd, and Christi Hinkle and husband Bobby; 22 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Mary's preceded in death by her parents: Paul and Betty Bruckner; husband Gordon Lawrence "Larry" Murray; son: Donald Byrd; grandson: Shawn Byrd; and sisters: Rosalie M. Ellis and Rebecca A Bruckner.
The family had a private celebration of life gathering.
