Mary Lou Palmer's Obituary
Mary Lou Rogers (Muz) Palmer gained her Heavenly wings on Thursday, October 8, 2020, at 3:08 pm. She had fought bravely in the last several years with an autoimmune disease and succumbed to COVID complications.
Mom spent the majority of her adult life working as an accountant for Palmer Aluminum Products, one of the several businesses she and our dad built together. She worked as an accountant for a number of years at First Baptist Church Broken Arrow, and later worked as an accountant at Jackson Hewitt until retirement.
In her later years, Mom was active in her beloved Broken Arrow community where she volunteered for the Tulsa County Election Board, Broken Arrow Police Department, Vandever Elementary School, and in her church until she was no longer able. Mom loved to talk politics and she LOVED her President; in fact, she voted absentee ballot a week before her death to ensure that her voice was heard in President Trump’s re-election. During her hospitalization she actually wrote on President Trump’s Facebook page wishing him well in his COVID recovery. She was a patriot through and through and was a vocal supporter of our military.
Mom was preceded in death by our dad, W. Norris Palmer, Jr. and her parents Virley Abner and Loren Rogers. She is survived by her four children: Peggy Palmer Ayers; Loren (Linda) Palmer; Robin (Mike) Palmer-Diel, and Tia (Todd) Palmer Russell. She is also survived by her sister, Joyce Yoder.
In addition, Mom is survived by the joys of heart, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They include Aubrey (Brian) Breiten and her children Alexander McDaniel and Jamie Sercl; Jessica (Chris) Tennison; Kyle (Rachelle) Palmer and their children Amelia and Thomas; Sarah (Nick) Sloan and their children Hayden, Jordan, Jaxson, and Jeremiah; Angelia (Bobby) McMichael and their children Tristian, Victoria, Hudson, and Anna; Blake (Kristina) Jones; Kaeti (Ed) Adney and their children Jackson, Charli, and Tilly; and Muz’s sweet Shay Hines. Mom is loved and will be remembered always as their Muz. Mom is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
We grieve our loss because Mom leaves behind a huge void. We are comforted, though, in knowing that Mom loved her Lord and Savior and rejoices in Heaven today.
Services are scheduled for Friday, October 23, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. in the Floral Haven Chapel, Broken Arrow. A reception will follow. Masks are mandatory.
