Penrice, Mary Kay's Obituary
Mary Kay Powell was born in Abilene, Texas, on December 12, 1957, to William and Mary Powell.
From a very young age, she loved all animals. She had many of the pets that most people would own, but she also had a hedgehog, a rabbit, a quarter horse, and even a Spider Monkey named Little Bit! She and her friend Renee would bring their horses to stay in the back yard for the weekend so they could ride all over the neighborhood.
She attended Taylor Elementary, Lincoln Junior High, and graduated from Abilene High in 1975. She began working for Mouser and Young CPA, where she was a bookkeeper for the original Taco Bueno store on South First in Abilene. She continued her bookkeeping career with Street Foundation Drilling.
Mary Kay became a believer in Jesus Christ at age 27, and always said her life immediately changed for the better from that day on. She met Randal Penrice in January 1990, and they were married in August 1991.
Mary Kay had five children, the joys of her life: Sean, Cole, Marlene, Kyle, and Beth. She has two wonderful granddaughters, Alayah and Emma Penrice.
Mary Kay enjoyed her friends, pets, quilting, painting, putting together puzzles, and going on Royal Caribbean cruises.
Her favorite dog breed was Pomeranian. The last 35 years her Pomeranians were Tribbles, Scrappy, and Daisy. It was especially hard on Mary Kay when we lost Daisy this past January.
Mary Kay wanted everyone to know that if they believe in Jesus Christ’s Death, Burial, Resurrection, and Ascension, that they are saved eternally by faith through Grace, a Gift, not of works.
She is now and will always be greatly missed by all of us here in this life.
