Mary Ethelene Phelps' Obituary
Mary Ethelene Deason Phelps Mary Ethelene Deason was born September 12, 1930 to Cecil and Lois (Berkley) Deason in Cowlington, Oklahoma, and passed from this life December 16, 2010 at the age of 80. Ethelene married Don Phelps, Sr. in 1946 in Turley. They raised three sons and a daughter in a home filled with love, laughter, music and faith in God. They lived in Tulsa and Inola for many years before moving to Catoosa. Ethelene worked at Brown-Dunkin and Sears in her younger years, then worked as a cook in Inola and Tulsa school systems for 18 years. She loved her family and God very much, and enjoyed baking and crocheting. Ethelene was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years; her parents; a sister, Freda; and a brother, Raymond. She is survived by her children and their spouses: Donald, Jr. and EuVon, David and Susie, Randy and Beverly, and Kelly and Rodney Jensen. Also survived by 12 siblings and their spouses: Calvin and Betty Jo Deason, J.D. and Shirley Deason, Bettye and Roy Hess, Nettie and Vernon Hoffman, Garry and Alice Deason, Ray Deason, Roy and Deanna Deason, Vernon and Juanita Deason, Bruce and Carolyn Deason, Buel and Sandy Deason, Beverly and Buddy Rogers, and Kathey and David Brown. Survivors also include 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends, all of whom will miss her very much. Funeral Service will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Rolling Hills 1st Baptist Church, Catoosa. With Committal to fallow at 3:00 PM at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens, Broken Arrow. Visitation 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at Floral Haven Funeral Home.
