Mary May Russell's Obituary
Mary May Russell, 89, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away on June 29, 2022, She was born on January 23, 1933 to parents Marion and Helen Holder.
In her younger days Mary was very active. She was a cheerleader, ran track, and played basketball. She also loved to hunt and get into trouble with her younger brother. She had an amazing fun filled childhood.
She loved her family and friends with all of her heart. She loved to express her love through cooking. She was famous for her cookies as well as her cinnamon rolls. We all look forward to our birthdays because she would always make us our favorite dessert which was always delicious!
She was an awesome Mom, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother! She loved her family so so much and was always ready for a get together. The more the merrier.
While she was small in stature she was huge with love. She always told us kids to be sure and let the people you love know they were loved and ALWAYS tell them you loved them when you either parted or were getting off the phone. She said you never know if you'll have another chance! She was full of wisdom and gave us all very good advice. She was very strong minded, another way to say she may have been a little stubborn! But due to her strength she has been a great example of what a Matriarch should be and has passed this trait on to some very strong women in her lineage.
Above everything, she was loved so very much by all of us and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her children Janet (Rick) Armstrong, Tammy (Lawrence) Randall, Debbie (Kevin) Marks, Kathy (Scott) Jewitt, and Doug (Vanessa) Russell; grandchildren Rochelle (Justin) Leep, Lindsay (Scott) Evans, Amanda (Kyle) Miller, Emily Ann, Megan Randall, and Alex (Kelsey) Smith; and great grandchildren Jared, Chloe, Mekhi, Paislee, Xavier II, Amari, and Harlow; along with a host of other family and friends that will forever miss her.
She is reunited with her husband Carlos “Russ” Russell; her parents Helen and Marion Holder; her brother Ted Holder; and her sister Betty Binkley.
A visitation only service will be held on Saturday July 2, 2022 from 11 AM - 2 PM to honor Mary's wishes.
