Mary Kay Sapp's Obituary
Mary Kay Sapp, 77 of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma passed from this life on Friday, November 10, 2023, at her Broken Arrow home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 12, 1946, in Manhattan, Kansas to her parents, Walker John Jelinek and Merrium Pauline Stevens Mielke. On July 27, 1967, she took the hand of Gary Lynn Sapp, and they were united in marriage and shared the next 56 years together before her passing.
Mary’s life was a testament to boundless love, infectious joy, and unwavering dedication to her cherished family and community. Her smile, a beacon of warmth, illuminated the lives of all who knew her. Mary's adventurous spirit and tireless commitment to helping others through her active roles in the church, volunteer work, and community initiatives left an unforgettable mark. From sharing in the joys of family camping and canoeing to her significant roles as a mother, aunt, devoted grandmother, and great-grandmother, Mary's love knew no bounds. Her favorite moments were those spent reconnecting with her loved ones, and creating cherished memories during vacations to Arizona and Kansas. Mary's legacy of love, kindness, and an unyielding spirit of generosity will continue to inspire and resonate in the hearts of all those she touched.
Mary is survived by her loving husband, Gary Sapp of the home; two daughters, Laura Johnston and her husband Paul of Texas and Angela Robidoux and her husband Rick of Arizona; one sister, Kathy Bridgewater and her husband Steve of Arizona; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, friends and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Judy Jelinek, and one grandson, Terry Christian.
Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. on Monday, November 20, 2023, at Floral Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at First Christian Church of Broken Arrow. Burial will follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
