Mary Jane Taylor, 94, lifelong resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed from this life on Friday, January 18, 2019 at her residence. She was born April 8, 1924 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to her parents, Virgil Wallace Hughes and Emma Marie Thorpe Hughes. Mary was married to her late husband, Norman Taylor for over 44 years before his passing in 1991.Mary was a devoted wife and daughter who took care of her mother for many years. She was a gregarious woman with great attitude, just loved life and was a cancer survivor. She loved to crochet, dance and work out at the gym even up into her later years. She loved music, playing the piano and shopping.She is survived by one son, Robert Lee Taylor of Claremore, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Mallory, Jimmy and Sarah Taylor; three great grandchildren, Justin, Connor and Maddie Taylor; and special friends, Susan Pauline Leggett of Claremore, Oklahoma and Terry Pilkington of Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Emma Hughes; her husband, Norman Taylor; son Jimmy Ray Taylor; three brothers, Wallace O. Hughes, George W. Hughes, and Robert V. Hughes; and one sister, Dorothy DuBose.A memorial service will be scheduled in the Spring.
