Mary Ann Wise's Obituary
Mary Ann Goforth Wise, age 79, loving wife, mother, and grandmother passed away September 26, 2024, in Tulsa, OK.
Mary Ann was born on July 8, 1945, in Tulsa, OK to John Luther Goforth and Selma (Minter) Goforth. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Michael Norman Wise Sr.
She graduated from Will Rogers High School in Tulsa and attended the University of Oklahoma and Tulsa University.
On October 3, 1980, she married her late husband, Michael, in Tulsa, OK. Mary Ann’s greatest joy, along with her children and grandchildren, was being married to Mike for 31 years.
Mary Ann was a Chaplin and Chaplin Co-Coordinator at Unity of Birmingham. She served with the Twilight Brigade where she always felt honored to pray with someone and help give them peace, strength, and love. She cherished animals and had a special love for her dogs. She remained close with many of her childhood and high school friends throughout the years and regularly had game nights, traveled, and weekly zoom calls with them.
Mary Ann is survived by her children: son, John Stratman and his wife Alaina; son, Michael Wise Jr. and his wife Rachel; and daughter Angela Wise-Golightly and her husband Alan; Grandchildren: Jordayn Stratman, Owen Wise, and Isabella Golightly; and many cherished nephews, great nieces, great nephew and friends.
Mary Ann’s wish for her family and friends is to enjoy life to the fullest and to live understanding that the greatest gift is to love unconditionally. She wants to be remembered as a Light of Love. Mary Ann will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024, 3:00pm at Floral Haven Funeral Home, 6500 S. 129th East Avenue, Broken Arrow, OK.
