Mavis L. Seawright's Obituary
Mavis Laverne Seawright passed away on December 10, 2019 in Tulsa Oklahoma at the age of 90.She was born on December 25,1928 in Cypress Ridge Monroe Arkansas to Mildred Pauline Phillips and Leroy Pitts. Because she was so petite, she got the nick name of “Doodle” as a child and still has family that know her only as “Doodle”.She married on October 13, 1949 to Clinton Houston Seawright and shared 45 years until his passing in September of 1996.Laverne worked as a switch board operator for Southwestern Bell for a short time but spent most of her time as a full- time mother and housewife after her children were born. Later in life, after raising her children, she worked at the Broadmoor Retirement Center as a receptionist until her 82nd birthday.She was a member and regular attendee of Eastwood Baptist and Metro Christian Church for over 40 years.She is survived by her sister Thelma Wirzfeld of Little Rock Arkansas, her 3 children of Tulsa, Rebecca Dian Gates, David Clinton Seawright and Mary Ann Seawright Presson.Laverne has 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren all residing in the Tulsa area.Most of all Laverne was a very loving mother that dedicated her life and love to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and Jesus.She will be greatly missed by all.Graveside service 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 13, 2019 at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.Public visitation will be Thursday, December 12, 2019 from 12:00 noon to 5:00 pm. Donations may be made to River Cross Hospice.
