Maxine Estellene Caldron-Shanholtz's Obituary
Maxine (Cramer) Caldron Shanholtz Maxine Estellene Cramer was born August 3, 1926, in Topeka, Kansas. She moved to Oklahoma at an early age, probably around 1930, and has resided in Tulsa since that time. She passed away at her daughter’s home on Sunday afternoon, May 8, 2011. During World War II, she dropped out of high school as a sophomore at Central High School and went to work at Spartan Aircraft plant in the true style of a Rosie the Rivetter. She was married to Eugene (Gene) Caldron on April 1, 1944. They had three children together, Jerry Duane, Royce Gene and Claudia Kaye. That marriage ended in 1971. She was a housewife for many years, being involved in many activities with her children through being a PTA mother as well as a den mother. In her later years she was employed in the food preparation industry having worked for Borden’s Cafeterias, Arby”s and the Magic Pan. She was later married and divorced from James Bentley. She was married and widowed by Johnny Glenn. Her last marriage was with Wayne Shanholtz, whom she divorced. Maxine loved collecting things over the years, including owls, angels and anything to do with Elvis Presley. She resided at Cornerstone Apartments for several years until she took ill. She was then under the care of Grace Hospice while living with her daughter Claudia. Preceding her in death was her mother Mildred (Vahsholtz) Lawson, Gene Caldron, her brother Duane Allen Cramer, her son Jerry Duane, and one great-grandchild. She is survived by her son Royce Caldron and wife Kathy of Ponca City and her daughter Claudia Johnson and husband Jesse of Tulsa. Also she is survived by five grandchildren, Patrick Johnson, Jeff Johnson, Jennifer Douglas, Tuesday Johnson, Sara Palmer, twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great-child.
