Maxine Glenn's Obituary
Heaven received a new angel on Valentine's Day 2012. Longtime Tulsan, Maxine Glenn, 91, passed away gently and went to be with her Lord and Savior. Maxine was a woman of faith, deeply devoted wife and mother and doting grandmother. Her family was her life. Maxine was born January 1, 1921 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, to Grover Stewart and Myrtle Stewart Bynum. After completing high-school in Tahlequah, Maxine moved to Tulsa to attend Business College. She became an accountant and went on to become a senior accountant at several oil and gas companies. Maxine and her family were longtime members of East Side Christian Church in Tulsa. She was very active in her Sunday school class, Circle and Bible Studies. She was an avid bridge player and loved spending time with family and friends. Maxine was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ralph of 50 years, her parents, brother Norwood Stewart, three infant sons and an infant grandson. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter Dr. Melinda (Mindy) Smith and husband Jim of Tulsa. Her legacy lives on through her granddaughters, Lauren and Taryn Smith, as well as numerous relatives, friends and loved ones. There will be a private family graveside service on Friday in Tahlequah. A celebration of Maxine's life will be held at 1:00 PM at East Side Christian Church on Saturday, February 25th. Share memories and online condolences at www.floralhaven.com.
