In Loving Memory of Melody
With profound sadness and broken hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, Melody, who left this world on July 8, 2026, at the tender age of four.
Born on March 29, 2022, Melody was her parents' "little Aries firecracker"—a true mirror image of her mother and father’s spirit who brought immeasurable joy, laughter, and love to everyone blessed to know her. Her bright smile could light up any room, and her brilliant, sweet spirit touched the hearts of family, friends, and all who met her. Melody filled each day with wonder and curiosity, whether she was proudly learning her colors in Spanish, watching her favorite, "Lucas the Spider", or playfully wearing her coat and boots around the house.
Though her time with us was far too brief, the love she shared and the memories she created will remain forever in our hearts. Melody’s gentle nature, infectious laughter, and precious hugs are gifts that her family will cherish always. It is with great pride that her family honors her deep, diverse roots; she embraced a strong Hispanic heritage passed down from her Nana, Marjorie Gordon (Blair), alongside a resilient indigenous history. Melody was a proud descendant of Mary Ann Jones (Creek Freedmen) and her great-great-grandmother, Mildred Evitt Wilburn, a descendant of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre—a powerful legacy that her mother, De'Jah, continues to uncover and honor to this day.
Melody is survived by her loving parents, De'Jah and Michael, with whom she shared a uniquely beautiful and special bond; her five adored siblings, **Dejahn (14), Za'Briah (11), Kingston (9), Skye (9), and Madison (5); her devoted grandparents, Denise Smith, Cornell Jones, and Dionisia Dailey; her beloved Nana, Marjorie Gordon (Blair); and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who adored her deeply. She is further survived by the endearing memory of her late grandfather, U.S. Veteran Steven L. Dailey (d. 1993).
A celebration of Melody's beautiful life will be held on July 18, 2026, at the Central Park Community Center from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor her memory, share stories, and find comfort in one another during this difficult time.
Though we cannot understand why such a precious life was taken so soon, we find peace in knowing that Melody will forever be remembered for the pure happiness she brought into this world. She will remain in our hearts, our thoughts, and our love every day.

Melody’s Celebration of Life
Date: Saturday, July 18th
10:00 AM – Setup: Anyone who would like to help set up is welcome to arrive early!
10:30 AM – 12:30 PM – Gathering Central Park Community Center (1500 S Main St, Broken Arrow, OK 74012).
11:00 AM – Pastor Speaks & Balloon Release: We will step over to Veterans Park (1111 S Main St—just down the street) for the Pastor's message and Melody's balloon release.
Food: Please bring any dish you’d like—anything helps and is deeply appreciated!
