Melvin Glen Ede's Obituary
Melvin Glen Ede was born February 27, 1934 in Tulsa, Oklahoma and passed away June 8, 2015 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Melvin was on of three children born to Glen and Ann Bash. After graduating from Tulsa Central High School in 1952 Melvin joined the Navy and proudly served his country from 1956-1958. During his time in the military Melvin was stationed in the Philippines. After his discharge from the military he and his step-father Riley E. Harmon and mother Ann Harmon started Tulsa Gasket manufacturing Company; Melvin would later take over as the President of the company, eventually retiring in 1994. Melvin married Peggy J Clark in December of 1959. When Melvin wasn’t working he enjoyed his hobbies of woodworking, traveling with his family and golfing with his closest friends. Melvin was a lifetime member of Indian Springs Club in Broken Arrow. Melvin will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved him. Melvin is survived by his spouse of 40 years Peggy Ede; daughter, Melanie Lee and her husband Michael of Broken Arrow; son, Vincent Ede of Broken Arrow; grandchildren, Sara and Matthew Ede of Oolagah; sister, Patsy McCance and her husband Don of Tulsa; sister Rita Jo Walters of Santa Barbara, CA. and numerous other family members and friends. Melvin is preceded in passing by his parents and his step-father. The family wishes to thank everyone for the kindness you have shown during this difficult time of sorrow. And a very special thanks to Grace Hospice and especially Monica and Todd who gave extra special care to Melvin. There will be a visitation Friday, June 12, 2015 from 5-7 p.m. at Floral Haven Funeral Home Funeral Service will be Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel
