Meredith E. Sorrell MD's Obituary
Meredith E. Sorrell MD (Bud) was born 7-24-1928 in Cincinnati, Ohio and went to be with the Lord on 6-6-2019. He is survived by his wife Bonnie Cole Sorrell of 64 years, two sons Duane E. Sorrell of Winchester, VA, Vincent L. Sorrell MD and wife Amanda of Lexington, KY. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Zoe and Jack Sorrell and step-granddaughter Maggie Newbery. He was preceded in death by his parents Vincent and Bernice Sorrell and his sister Margaret Snell. Dr. Sorrell was a member of the Boston Avenue Methodist Church in Tulsa, OK. He was a Veteran of the US Navy and served with the Marines on Okinawa, a member of the American College of Pediatrics, was in private practice for 23 years in Warren Ohio, a Fellow in the American College of Physician Executives and for sixteen years was senior vice president of medical affairs at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. After retiring he traveled the US surveying hospitals for the Joint Commission Accreditation for Health Organizations. Bud Love God, Family, his Country and the Cincinnati Reds. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Doctors Without Borders, The American Heart Association or the Boston Avenue Methodist Church in Tulsa. Funeral Services will be held July 3 at 10:00 AM at the Floral Haven Chapel in Broken Arrow, OK. Family and friends may call at the Floral Haven Family Center following the graveside service.
