Mike Adkisson's Obituary
Michael (“Mike”) Dean Adkisson, 72, passed away on January 29, 2023, after a short struggle with cancer.
Mike was born September 30, 1950, in Wichita, Kansas. His parents were Dean and Betty Adkisson, both of Wichita.
He was raised in Wichita, Kansas during his younger years. The family relocated to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1964 where his dad, Dean Adkisson, was a local golf professional at Southern Hills Country Club from 1964 to 1976. Mike graduated from Memorial High School in 1969 and attended college at the University of Oklahoma. He worked as an assistant golf pro at a course in Edmond.
Mike was married briefly and had a son, Michael Jarred Adkisson.
In 1984, Mike met the love of his life, Cynthia (“Cindy”) Lee Brown (Crandell) and in 1990, they married in Eureka Springs, Arkansas - their favorite place to spend long weekends. Together, they raised their family in Tulsa and Catoosa. Mike was retired from two companies, both PepsiCo, where he worked for 30 years, and Reddy Ice, where he worked for almost 10 years.
Mike is survived by his beloved wife Cindy; son, Michael (wife Brittney Adkisson) of Prattville; step-daughter, Kristi Lynn Brown (husband Greg DiCarlo) of Rogers, Arkansas; and sister Deanne Morales of Lawton. In addition, he is survived by four granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Mark Adkisson.
Mike loved his family. His main hobbies through the years included gardening, spending time with and playing pranks on his family, browsing for antiques with Cindy, playing golf on the weekend with his buddies, and taking care of his cats, all named Kitty.
A private family service will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Clarehouse, 7617 S Mingo Road, Tulsa, OK 74133.
